We hiked from the Snowbowl Ski area (around 9200 ft) up the trail to Humphreys Peak, approximately 4.5 miles one-way. It was cold but sunny for most of the hike, and we found patches of ice and snow along the way. The black volcanic rock was soaking up the sun's heat and melting everything pretty quickly. It was good to be at the top after not making it in May 2001!
