We (me, John, Mom and Dad) drove toward Mauna Kea, stopping at the Visitor Center at 9400 feet to acclimate for a bit. We then continued up the road to the telescopes at the top. We parked and hiked the last short bit, up and over some snow to the highpoint marker. It was quite cold on top but the views were really beautiful. Mom came with us to the top (Dad stayed with the car). What an amazing day on Mauna Kea. On the way back down, we stayed at the Visitor Center until dark in order to look through their telescopes - awesome!
