What a beautiful day on a perfect weekend for climbing the mountain that shares my name! It is surprising that I grew up relatively close to the Adirondacks but didn't set a foot on them until recently. I guess a big lake is a geographical obstacle that requires deciding to get to other side. Mom did just that, joining us for this most excellent hike for her first time to the New York state highpoint as well.
