We parked at the Black Mesa trailhead and ran along the trail toward the mesa. After a couple miles the trail turned uphill and climbed to the top. After another mile of trail we found the highpoint marker (4973 ft elevation) near the New Mexico border. There were clouds all day, but no rain during our run. It was a great day for an 8.6 mile workout.
