Murder Mystery Night Orienteering

May 27, 2012

This murder mystery orienteering event took place while the sun was setting on the evening after Too Cool's Spread Your Wings race at Camp Eagle.

Teams received their maps right before the race start, and were only allowed to examine them for twenty seconds before they were released.

Teams ran to find the various Clue Locations on the map. At each location they collected a sheet with clues (and puzzles!) to help solve the murder.

The Short Course teams had a much higher success rate in solving the Murder Mystery... I'm not sure what to make of that. Perhaps the Long Course teams felt more pressure to make guesses and turn in their clue sheets quickly? Well, that's all part of the challenge.

If you notice any errors in the results, or misspelled detective names in the results (which is likely), send corrections to: kipley@gmail.com

Both the second and third place Short Course teams did the race while pushing around babies in strollers! And a special shout-out to the team of Dani Cantor-Cox and Andrew S. for finding and solving everything without any help from adults! Very impressive, especially considering many adult teams didn't solve the mystery successfully!
